As many as two Bachelor's degree programmes of the Faculty of Humanities are among the best in the Netherlands: History and Literature and Society. It's the first time that the bachelor's degree programme History is marked as one of the best in his kind in The Netherlands.
The Bachelor's degree in History scores well in the areas of lecturers, facilities, assessment, scientific training, feasibility, survival first year and diploma after 4 years. Literature and Society performs particularly well in terms of program, assessment and teachers, and is doing well in terms of feasibility, practicality and survival in the first year.
Quality remains strong
Bachelor's degree programmes with this hallmark are among the best in the country, according to the Keuzegids. Rector Magnificus Vinod Subramaniam: "I am pleased that we continue to hold our education in high esteem, and that History has been added as a top programme. During the corona pandemic, our teachers and staff are working hard to continue teaching well in difficult circumstances. I am proud of that, although it is not easy for teachers and students'.
The ranking of classical universities this year in the top three does not differ from last year. The VU stands for Utrecht University and behind Radboud University Nijmegen.
National Student Survey
Each year, the Keuzegids is partly based on the National Student Survey (NSE). In 2020, however, there was no National Student Survey due to the corona crisis. The Keuzegids has therefore used the results from the NSE of 2019. This year, the Keuzegids paid extra attention to the study success of the students and the job guarantee after graduation.
