Much of the research at VU Amsterdam is done within interfaculty Research Institutes, combining research from many different fields under a single banner. This interdisciplinary approach offers researchers in Humanities the opportunity to develop their research in conjunction with social scientists, economists and landscape researchers, or to set up digital humanities projects with the help of computer scientists.
Humanities researchers participate in the following institutes:
- CLUE+ (Research Institute for the Culture, Cognition, History and Heritage)
Coordinated by: Faculty of Humanities
Participants: Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Economics, Religious Studies and Theology
- Network Institute
Coordinated by: Faculty of Social Sciences
Participants: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Law and Economics
Humanities researchers also participate in several themed research centres of the Faculty of Humanities.
